I was able to range six inch plates and 4x14 poppers at 650 ease. Anything past 800 it has to be large and flat like a truck topper window. When we setup steel out west this is how we do it just tell the driver over the radio to stop.
The only beef is they are sticklers with warranty claims and its always cheaper to buy a new one.
I love my old style Leica 1200 rangefinder. I have used it out beyond 1000 yards many times. The best thing about it is I got it after Leica switched to their new style for $350 at gander mountain on clearance.
