Default Getting a trailer weighed

I just bought a deck over tri axle and need to get it weighed. I know I have to go somewhere that has a certified scale. I know I see signs going up north on I75 for a couple of the truck stops (flying J, Pilot) that says "Certified CAT Scale"... Would I be able to get the trailer weighed there and get a weight slip? I know that they aren't very expensive, like $5-$10. Also, how do I do it? Do I unhook the trailer so they get the weight of the trailer, or do they weigh my truck with it, and deduct the weight of my truck, or would I just pull up enough so my truck is off the scale, but my trailer is still on it?

Thanks for the help. Kinda new at this and I want to do it right the first time
