as for the pain - I had a toe surgically removed due to a malignant vascular tumor that settled in said toe 29 years ago. I have also had several instances requiring stitches in the other foot due to my penchant for running around barefoot in the summer. (6 stitches in the big toe sucked)

I can state that for me, the pain of a needle and/or anesthetic being injected into my foot was a metric shiton worse than the numbing shot in the nuts and/or the actual procedure.

while the dull roaring ache from the nuts the 4 days after weren't any fun, it also didn't come close to the pain of raw nerve endings after a surgical amputation of that toe
