Except when looked at in a cold financial way. The dead son is not costing him any money. Depending on the injury it could lead to a lifetime of expenses.
The fact that he collected $1.65 million has nothing to do with this. This is about him collecting at least $500,000 of the $800,000 for losing a son, leaving the 3 other with at most $300,000 to split between them to compensate them for their injuries, and then being an ass about paying it back.
