There is a large turnover rate for truck drivers, and with contracts and bids on the line, its very easy for a trucking company to lose its major bread and butter runs when it goes up for rebid. There is usually always a company out there willing to do it cheaper. Just the way it goes. Hang in there, good drivers are hard to come by and im sure you will find another company to fit into, enjoy your vacation and look for what else is out there. Back in 2009 I got laid off and I was only a dispatcher, because we lost all our loads from Flint truck and bus and that was a huge account, so they no longer needed so many dispatchers, just like they downsized on leased trailers, and also drivers, like I said its just the way she goes.
