I watched three guys from my high school sign up, one being hardcore rotc and all that jazz. They all found ways out of it once they got to boot camp, and I haven't talked to them since. One faked his asthma attacks from when he was a kid, one purposely hurt himself, and I don't remember what the last one did.
My mom and grandma said "I'm too smart to go into the military". Just like they said I was "too smart" for football. I never understood that and probably never will. They also said I was too smart to be a welder :Sonicjay:
I never really pursued it, but if I was needed I would sign up no problem. Not particularly fond of the man in charge, but I have a lot of respect for the armed forces. Save a couple delinquents here and there.
I'm not sure if they would accept me with my janky ankle and lower back tweak though.
