X2 we use the metabos for that exact same reason. Well that and you can get the 6" wheel version on a standard size grinder. The majority of Pipefitters/ welders that I know use them. I have not used their cordless version but if the quality is anywhere near the corded ones I wouldn't hesitate to buy. I get around 3 years out of a 6" grinder but that is beating the hell out of it everyday. Under normal use it would last someone 3 lifetimes. Any other grinder I have used wont last 6 months.
