Yeah those mirrors suck to drive with flipped out....they get in the way of EVERYTHING. Even in the down position those things are huge. I loved the visibility but they seem to want to hit everything. The only time I drove with them flipped up(pulling a big camper that actually required it) they were obnoxious as hell.
