The stinger case is slightly longer than the standard .22lr case, but the bullet on the stinger is it the same overall length as the .22lr round.

Most .22lr rifles/pistols can shoot stingers, unless you have a barrel with a match chamber which is shorter than the standard sporting chambers most barrels have. Some target .22lr rifles will have trouble extracting the shells for that reason.

I'm a big fan of the .17hm2, which is a necked down .22lr stinger case...not the standard .22lr case.
