It never did that last year. So that tells me something is warm and needs to be replaced. What would your guess be?
my first guess is compressor wheel on the turbo

My second guess is the back pressure valve is stuck or not opening fully, but they would have a sig reduction in power with it.

pull your intake off the turbo and push/pull and wiggle the wheel to feel for endplay. Check for damage on the wheel from dirty air.

EDIT- if you really think it is an air leak, check the intercooler boots for tears, etc. Also check the intake manifold boots.
