The seal is static (non rotating) in the housing and between the bearing and wheel flange. I found that a good layer of RTV solved the problem. As far as removing the bearing, you will pretty much destroy the bearing as it's a tight press fit. You can cut them off with a cutoff wheel or carefully with a torch. Most quality auto parts places can press them back on.
BTW, it doesn't have anything to do with them being Moser's.
