Wheel bearing or c/v joint? UPDATED
I have a 98 f-140 4x4 and i started hearing this "noise" int he right frt, well Today it got worse so I jacked it up took the tire off andwhen I amspinning the rotor/hub I hear the noise like at the 9ococlock position if it was a clock going around.
The faster it spin the more noticeable it is.
It sounds like its right where the c/v joint boot attaches to the wheel bearing hub.
Is there a way to tell ( more or less what is more common) if its the c/v joint(boot has no tear) or the wheel bearing/hub with out tearing it all apart?
