It is a lot of calories, not necessary for most people I'd say.
In the warmer months I run about 6 miles a week (typically i do a 2.7/8 mile loop near my house 1-2 times a week).
I mountain bike at least 15-20 miles during the week, and either an additional 20-40 miles on weekends, or I race or practice DH somewhere which is usually an all day event both days.
I weight train 3-4 times per week, typically 2-3 crossfit like workouts for 30-45 minutes, and 1-2 times per week in a slightly more traditional sense but focus on the core powerlifting movements.
I move around a lot.
