2004 Neon SRT4
The good -
93 Octane DSP tune
BC Coilover suspension
Newer aftermarket clutch
Booger bushings, MPx shift knob (and I think STS but I can't remember)
New brakes/rotors in the rear, wheel bearings/tie rod ends/ball joints in the front
Viper style seats (not leather)
Sunroof (maybe they all had this, I don't remember)
Ipod hookup to factory stereo
The bad -
153k miles (I have an 80 mile commute)
Transmission grinds a bit if you shift into second at a high rpm (syncro? tweaked shift fork?) It's done it the whole time I've had the car and it doesn't bother me because the only time I ever really get on it is on the freeway
Dime sized rust on the hood, some quarter panel rust in the rear
With the car will go a timing belt kit, input shafts for the transmission, and dealer touch up paint. These are all things that I was going to get around to when it warms up, but a car came along that I just had to have.
I'll take $4500 before I put it on Craigslist for 5k. This is well below book value, I've taken the time it would take to swap the trans gears into account. Honestly it never really bothered me, but if you want to swap it out and get into an SRT on the cheap, here's your chance. The car sounds and runs great, and it's as fast as you could want for a daily driver.
