Stock dodge convertors, gas and diesel, have a single clutch disc in the convertors.

A dual disc has twice as much holding power as a single and a 3 disc has 3 times as much. The aftermarket made these as a buying incentive to people see that, OH A THREE DISC!. Must be better than just one or two. NOT true however. The more discs you have makes the lockup in the convertor actually lock up faster. This hurts the input shaft, and all the hard internal parts.

Now if you put a aftermarket valvebody in it, you will have more line pressure yet, and when it locks-up, shocks the trans even more yet.

Go with a dual disc and a good valvebody and never worry about it again. Or until you get around 500+ RWHP
