That does sound kinda messed up. Myself I dont agree with the Catholic doctrine.
I suppose if the parents think that baptising a child is ok then who are we to say.
If a person has made that choice as an adult to be baptised and follow Christ, then it is a choice based on thier own decision making. But parents baptising children gives them the comfort in assuming the child is ok with God.
We are all sinners and do derserve death but I think there is an age of consent where there is a line drawn. Babies are not that point, they are innocent until corrupted by the world and its thinking.
