The late 00, 01, 02 trucks (mine is a 01) have the ball joints inverted compared to the 94-99 trucks and the ford 60's. The good news is the 4th gen steering is bolt on, no mods required. Bad news is to do the ford outers to eliminate the unit bearings i would have to ditch my entire axle and get one out of a 94-99....which is more work than its worth imo.
Ive looked over on the pirate forum a few times and never seen why we cant use the 95-97 ford dana 60's outer spindle, stub shaft, and lockouts on the 2000-2002 trucks. Maybe there are to many BS posts and im just missing it. Going to the 4th gen steering is AWSOME!
