if you have bare metal showing, use an etch primer shopline jp 215 or, NOT and. a epoxy primer shopline jp375. if you have small to light imperfections use a 2 part acrylic urathane primer shopline jp 202. if you have medium to large imperfections use polyester primer. basically spray filler. jp 205. all of these are at painters supply store. all are 125$ a gallon/kit or less. epoxy primer has the best corrosion protection on bare metal, it just dosent build and sand as well as the acrylic, or polyester primer. you can also reduse the epoxy primer and spray it as a sealer. if you dont use shopline brand/ppg those are still the same components in every diffrent brand of primers to look for.
