Not a puff of electrical smoke (yes I realize that's how I worded it), just got really hot. I wasn't breaking lug nuts loose, just backing them off. I didn't feel like using a wrench on 32 lugnuts with long studs. That should be pretty easy for a drill to handle, I use drills all the time mixing mud, concrete, and mortar mix, that's a lot harder on them.

There is no reason it shouldn't be able to handle drilling some holes, even just a couple would be nice before it overheated or the battery dies.

Even just for around the house use I would not recommend it, although that's what I'm stuck with for now.
