True. Can't argue with that but can agree with my fellow Christians in saying that was the plan. He upset the religious leaders of that time by challenging thier ability to love through grace.

The thing that makes it even more bewildering is that he never really did anything to deserve the radical switch of opinion. The beginning of the week they were blessing him and saying "blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord" and by the end of the week, they nailed him to a tree.

But he still did it.

If you ask me, that gives you an idea of exactly what I was getting at in the original context of this thread. It was to give glory to God. By doing this 1, he gave us the ability, through the fulfillment of the OT laws, to glorify God with out sacrificing animals (PETA should love this btw) and 2 to Glorify God by following his will for his life.

He didn't come to fix the current world. He came to give us the ability to live in this world with hope of a new world. Humans have an instinctual ability to know when something isn't right. The Ct Shootings, Sandy, Columbine, Katrina, etc are all examples of our broken world. When any of us see those things we think "it shouldn't be this way". WE KNOW THIS WORLD IS BROKEN.

The reason being that we, and this world, are not designed to function with Sin. Christ came to give us a way to, once and for all, get rid of that sin in our own lives. The OT laws were proof that we couldn't do it on our own and so Jesus came and fulfilled them.

So yes, our world is broken and in horrible shape but those that believe in Christ and the grace God showed through him have hope for a world that isn't messed up.

By Sacrificing his own sun (which is a Whacked plan indeed) God gave us that ability. But, just like any other father, God knew what his son needed to do for the betterment of everybody.
