I like Dewalt also. From 98-2013, I had just two dewalts. First a 14.4, and then an 18v. The 14.4 eventually the batteries died after maybe 7 years so I upgraded. Drill still worked fine, just the battery costs were high.. I had to clean the motor and brushes on it once, due to the amount of drywall I was doing back then. Mine were used to build 3 houses, so they got used a fair amount.

This Christmas, I got a 20v Li Dewalt drill, and 1/4" impact, and am happy with them, the just in power over my 18v is noticeable. The 18v is still perfectly good, just decided I needed a 2nd one to keep in the new barn, since I don't want to walk out to the barn every time I need one in the house.


I've never had any reason to look at other brands, very happy with them.
