Default 1987 S-10 Clutch dilemma

Looking for some thoughts on my clutch/trans issue before I pull the trans out of the truck. Here's the issue.

Pushed in the clutch peddle, and it made a hollow pop noise, and I lost the tension on the peddle. I was able to still use the clutch, but it was at the top of the peddle, and would engage with very little pressure. The master and slave cylinders were cheap so I replaced both of those first, hoping for the best......No good. With a new clutch master cylinder, and slave cylinder installed and bled, it seems to be worse, and now the peddle is non existent, and I can't get any tension on the peddle. I could use the clutch before, and now the clutch wont engage at all.

Any ideas. I dont have alot of troubleshooting experience with manual transmission. Do pressure plates just stop working, and cause problems like this? Any thoughts or ideas would help.

Cheers, Keith.
