Toss that "special" front axle in the scrap pile along with the front leafs.
Get a standard solid 30's front axle, with vented drums. Move the axle closer to the grill and run a 2 link/ mono leaf and air bags tucked behind the headlights and the front axle is done.
Out back get some M37 springs, remove all but the lower leaf. Half that leaf run air bags and a V linkage in the rear. Toss some paddle tires on the rear and some skinnies up front. Put some silencer cones in the exhaust and a headache hoop behind the driver and passenger so everyone "feels" safe.
Once all that was done. Yes, I would wheel it for a few months on flat trails and out at the dunes then sell it.
