Default 2011 F250 drivability issues?

I know nothing about Fords so clue me in if this is normal or not. 2011 F250 6.2 liter gas engine, auto trans, 2 wheel drive, 50K miles on it. Has lazzy response to the gas pedal causing you to push harder until it takes off and then you have to let up. It feels kind of like an old vehicle with a bad accelerator pump. It doesn’t feel like a dead spot on the tps, more like the motor is laying down a bit.

Could this be a cold engine thing or a trans shift defuel thing or is it the software (ie torque mgt) or should it be looked into? Is there a way to read any stored trouble codes (like turning the key on and off three times)?
