I've never heard of, or had a prof. even glance at what a student uses to take notes. The most anyone has ever said at OU in any course I've been in is having a policy on what if anything is allowed during exam time.

And/or, that whatever you use, silence it. that being said all of my courses have been evening sessions.



I used to have a fujitsu slate tablet with a stylus - for professors that had powerpoints and/or topic/lecture notes pre-planned it was a godsend being able to "write" on top of the electronic files. For those that don't, a proper keyboard is a must for those of us that can type 80-90 wpm.
