This sounds very similar to a PI call I had 7 years ago. Guy in a truck Hit a car (sides swiped) went in a ditch and hit a tree. Backed up, as he was pulling out of the ditch hit another car, bounced off, kept driving for a few miles, blew a stop sign, and hit a old brick water treatment plant and died instantly. It was determined that the underlying cause was he was a diabetic, he sugar dropped and he became disoriented/confused. He lived in Grand Rapids, worked in Allendale, and his final crash site was 500 yards from Lake Michigan. It is thought that he simply turned the wrong way out of the drive way at work and headed west instead of east.
