not a politician so bear with me ...

so was the "temporary" tax cut we just "gave back" supposed to fix something? if not why give it back to the government now? I thought that social security is stilled a doomed program? why not keep the tax break around till they come up with a viable proposal to fixing social security? I really appreciate that extra 10% or so of my weekly income being there.
