1. It is no more ridiculous then him saying he doesn't agree with gay marriage, they simply responded they didn't like his statement.
2. He is the CEO of a large organization, if he makes a broad statement like that how could it NOT affect his business one way or another regardless of what he says regarding a controversial subject?
3. Consequences, you suffer them for every single choice you make in life, that's life. Consequences do not have to be bad.
