Since its a speed density motor you could take the roller cam out of the 5.0 and swap it into the 5.8 and advance the cam timing 4 to bring the powerband down about 500rpm. You will need new pushrods tho. I did this on my 94 f150. I also swapped over my underdrive pullies from the 5.0. I also had to widen the 5.0 fuel rail to fit the wider 5.8 lower intake. I also switched to a plastic 93 mustang clutch fan essembly,much lighter than the steel clutch fan setup off my 5.0 f150 motor.
