I run the 96 fuse panel, a 80's steering column and ign switch. And all auto meter gauges.
Just sat down with the harness and a schematic book and and picked/pulled the wires that weren't needed and shortened the ones that were.
Before I ran this set-up in my 74, I had it installed in my 03 ranger truggy. I had even wired the 96 harness to use the 03 instrument cluster and all gauges and lights worked as oe. I also did a similar deal on a buddys 91 ranger truggy with a 89 5.8L efi harness and related.
