I've got y-links on the front of my grand, but they are custom made and really long. 2" .250 wall lowers and 1.75" .188 wall uppers. I don't drive it on the road more than a few miles (42" tires aren't cheap) but the previous owner and I haven't had any problems. I think that they are better suited to a off road only rig than a daily driver.

Edit... if you are looking for cost savings, a set up like mine would be just as much or more (2 extra suspension joints) than a three link setup. If I were to build this rig it would have been 3 or 4 linked. My next build will not have this set up.
