Default T-case help please and thank you

I picked up a 90 straight six 5 speed 4x4 f150 a while back with a blown rear end and a no work speedo, I fixed the rear end and checked the speedo cable and cluster witch was good, the speedo gear just spins in the t-case. I had it out a few weeks back took it a part and I can't seem to figure out what holds the gear to the shaft. its an early manual bw 1356 with a 1 piece rear housing, I've searched online for diagrams, parts and other info but the t-cases they show have a removable tailpiece, the speedo gear is worn bad. It's also not the right t-case for the truck, it's got a yoke instead of a slip yoke and someone made a drive shaft for it. I'm just a little lost with it. I'd rather fix it since the t-case is good instead of havin to buy another for it
