285/75R16s and 255/85R16s are both about 33" tall and bigger than his stock size.

A 285/75 is about 1.3" taller than a 265/75


On my 1/2 ton F150, I run 265/70R17s, which are a touch bigger than the stock 255/70R17s. They are also load range E, so a good bit heavier than the lightweight p-rated stockers. I lost a good 1 mpg making the change to the taller/ more aggressive tire.
