255's are narrower than a 285 and about the same height 33"

255's are generally D or E rated, one of them has a 3-ply sidewall...Maxxis Bravo 762...they should have pretty strong sidewalls.

I'm aware that my rpm's will potentially go down, but some people speak about "rolling resistance" of a tire. However, my current tires weight 46 pounds each and 235/85r16's weight 47 pounds and 255's weight 52 pounds. Not that big of a deal.

With 245/75r16 at 65 mph I am 2200 rpm's...still, if I'm careful I can get 19mpg. I would like to get some more...I was hoping tall and skinny was the answer. Just need to find out if someone knows for sure if they will fit.
