Ive never used chains to secure a vehical to a trailer. and we've been doing it for quite some time with no prob from the 5.0

But i always go to the frame. Sinch it down as tight as possible so the suspension wont compress over bumps and allow a strap to fall off. Also try to postition the hooks on the straps in a way so that if it DOES compress they wont fall off. yours look like they have a "lock" to hold the hook around the object so id say you're good.
