Ever get so busy that when you finally take a moment to look up from your work, you realize that time has gotten away from you? That's the way it has been so far this year at the BlueRibbon Coalition--much to do and almost not enough time to do it...
In addition to BRC's ongoing efforts to facilitate and assist local grassroots involvement in state and local issues, there are three major national issues that we are focused on. Effective representation and partnering from the local and national level is critical. I encourage you to engage with us:
1. Salazar's "Big Wilderness" effort to take the "public" out of "public lands":
This is as blatant an anti-access campaign as I have ever seen played in politics.

2. Forest Service's new Forest Planning Rule--decades of far reaching effects:
The newly proposed Forest Planning Rule Draft and Draft Environmental Impact Statement are out for review and comment. This rule-making process follows decades of controversy and litigation over similar efforts in 2000, 2005, and 2008. And, this new "Rule" will affect recreation management for decades to come. Please check back often on this issue at this link on our website: http://www.sharetrails.org/public-la..._Planning_Rule
3. Reauthorizing the Recreational Trails Program--not a done deal yet:
Your club can be a big help and it's easy. Short read on how here: http://www.sharetrails.org/rtp
