6.2 silverado will get you really good gas mileage for a truck but when it comes to towing a 4.9 inline six from ford makes more torque and horspowere not sure how that ends up. my dad had 3 6.2 diesels and they both got religiously 20+ and he towed with it and it never missed a beat the first one had 450,000 miles on it when we sold it in 1999 it was a 1985 suburban and it still is running to this day i know the guy who owns it and it has 600,000 miles on the stock motor, the second one we had waas a 1991 suburban and we sold it for with 300,000 miles on it both were great trucks and only had to do minor maintenance like altenators starters batteries and oil changes. i can honestly recomend the 6.2 i have several friends who have had 7.3 liter powerstrokes and love them but i never have had one.
