if its a full time 4x4, it has the unit bearing set up like on the 2nd dodges. none serviceable bearins. they are pricy like 50 bucks the last time i bought one for a old dodge. you can change the knuckles to the later mid 80s and get the lock outs. why are you wanting to go to a 44 in your jimmy? have a 10 bolt now?
