I've got a Canon G10 (fancypants point and shoot) and a Canon 7d.

The D40 is a piece of shit and the D100 is like 8 or 9 years old now. I remember when it came out and I was barely in college.

The D60 isn't too bad. You should be able to find a D90 for cheap now also. The D90 is a nice body but it's a bit long in the tooth.

There is no point in buying a relic unless you're going to buy junk lenses also. At which point you'd be lightyears ahead with a top-of-the-line Point and Shoot.

I got my Canon G10 two years ago brand new for like $400. That's what a D60 body costs. And I dare you to try to take a video with a D60. The G10 takes better pictures also. It just doesn't have the ability to telephoto very far. And I just sold the teleconverter for mine because it was useless.

I'm not a camera snob, my wife is. I just spend a lot of time researching them before I plunk down the coin. Same reason why I ended up with Canon crap instead of Nikon.
