I placed an order from Eastwood yesterday. Arriving soon...
- Pre Painting Prep Aerosol
- Diamond Clear Satin/Metal Surfaces Aerosol
- Rust Encapsulator Black Aerosol
- Aluma Blast Paint Aerosol
- Extreme Chassis BlackSatin 14 oz Aerosol
- Underhood Black Semi Gloss Aerosol
I already have all the POR-15 prep products on-hand (Marine Clean, Metal-Ready, etc.), but thought I'd also give the Eastwood Pre cleaner a try. The water-based POR-15 Marine Clean does an OK
job, but is not alone adequate to completely degrease parts, in my experience. I have typically followed the Marine Clean with a couple wipe-downs of acetone, whcih typically picks up additional dirt/grime. I'm hoping the Pre will work better.
For metal converters, I did not
buy the Eastwood Rust Dissolver yet, but may give it a shot down the road. I already have on-hand, and have used in the past, both POR-15 Metal-Ready and Naval Jelly. Both work well, and basically use phosphoric acid to convert & neutralize the rust.
I also held off on ordering the Eastwood ceramic engine paint, as we won't be ready for that until mid-to-late summer, I'm guessing.
We'll do a product review of each of the Eastwood products after we use them.
