I loved my D100. Probably ran 100000 pics through it. Drug it through two years of we-rock courses, rolled off a mountain with it... landed hard enough to bend a 200mm lens, but the body was fine. never did anything other that get it cleaned a couple of times. You probably don't want to buy a body from someone who hangs out at comp courses. I think the body is heavier that the D70 and the D40. See which feels better to you. I think the D100 bodies are about 200 - 250 on ebay. If you are buying a used one ask them if they have had it professionally cleaned. I just gave mine to my brother in law to try or I would let you try it out. I bought a D300 about a year and a half ago.
