without getting into a huge a stock type 1 IRS against a stock type 1 swing axle with the same motor setups and the swing axle will take more abuse...this has been beaten to death for years. At the end of the day you are dealing with a type 1 trans, which is nothing more than a turd. I dont care how much money you dump into that thing it will always be the weak link. It's just like the 44 vs 60 argument.
