Default HOW TO GUIDE: CJ/YJ hardtop on a TJ

So, we've probably all wondered if this was possible. Many people have answered that question by saying "no, just buy the correct one." I personally don't want to spend $900, so I opted to try this.

Here is how I did it...

The first thing I did was to cover the entire inside with Felt to give it a nicer appearance.

The next thing I did, was I had to work on that front edge which has to be angled where it meets the windshield instead of completely flat on the bottom edge.

You can see the black weather stripping still on the hardtop in this picture.

Here is a side view of the progress. The leading edge is right where it needs to be.

As you go, continue to remove material from the weather stripping channel area. This area will need to be removed.
