I wouldn’t have, even if I didn’t already have this axle. We wanted kingpins and rebuildable hubs and the DRW 78-79 HP60 is the perfect width for this truck. Not sure what the WMS-WMS is on the new HP60s though. Besides the fact that the radius arm mounts in the newer Superduties use different bushings and would’ve required chopping up the existing control arms, building a truss around them would’ve been a nightmare, and the existing frame mounts may not have lined up(and those are not moving from where they’re at). The larger tube would’ve been nice but that’s the only benefit of the new HP60 over the one we used, and strength won’t be an issue on this one by any means.
