As a lover of books and a strong believer in freedom of speech I abhor the idea of buring any text, whether it be the Koran, Bible, Book of Satan, Book of Buddha, Book of the Dead, or my phone book. The written word is powerful stuff that lasts for generations. Destroying any text looses valuable knowledge for the peoples of the future.
I believe in freedom of speech, and I extend that belief to having the right to burn a book, but I find it an ignorant act that has little benifit. Think of the last two times someone called for the burning of books, Didn't work out so well for Hitler, and the burning of all the Mayan texts by the Spanish in the sixteenth century caused the loss of the great knowledge of possibly one of the worlds greatest ancient peoples.
