I don't cut into the headlight, but if you have a bulb that doesn't have a seal built in, you have a dust cover, and there has to be a hole drilled into that in order to get the wires out to go to the ballast. No modification to the actual reflector or headlight housing is made. To go back to stock, you would have to buy another dust cover. Don't know anyone that ever has...
Alright sweet. I must of read a real shitty writeup (from another HID site) and someone said they had to like drill into the back housing of the headlight.

Also, are these street legal? Has anyone on here a problem running them yet with johnny law? Or is it one of those "Yeah they aren't legal, but the cops don't bother with it" kind of things?

My girlfriend will kill me if I mod the new car only for her to constantly get pulled over in it.

Last question, I swear. What is the expected life of the bulbs? I know that Sylvanias suck and you're lucky if you get a year out of them. Just want to make sure I'm not replacing these all the times.
