I respectfully disagree. I've spent alot of time at the dragstrip (Owned a drag bike) and I've seen alot of cars set up like that run 9's/10's. Looking at the one launch picture, the way the rear tires are loaded tells me the car puts down some serious power. A slower car just doesn't achieve the stance this car has when it launches.
I've spent a lot of time at the track as well. Almost any respectable RWD car can load up slicks like that, that's what they are meant to do. But it also depends on the tires. I know of a 13 second Chevelle that had to get bead locks because it would spin the rims inside of the tires on launch.
I'd say if that launch picture showed the front tires off the ground a decent height, like that van pictured, then I'd be more inclined to think, OK, it's a pretty quick car. Considering the 12 second car that my Auto Tech class raced could lift the front tires, theres nothing about that launch that says 9 second car.
