47 and retired???? You don't work at all??? Please do tell... This is easy, people in that age group banked on the fact that social security would be all they need... Surprise.... It doesn't even come close... Also the older you get the harder it is to get a job... That may not be the case for the Politicians or CEO's but I think it's true for the rest of the work force.. I’m close to your age and early in life I didn’t/couldn’t plan for retirement as well as I wanted to… Now I max my contributions and plan to retire as soon as possible. One last thing, society doesn’t want anyone to retire, they want people working well into their 60’s hell even their 70’s. I will not be one of those people, I already have my RV and travel as much as possible as I will retire as soon as possible…
