there is a good "clone class" most use a Harbor Frieght motor that runs less then 150, then you must use a specific clutch & header. I don't know if any michigan tracks race these.

There is a yamaha 100CC class that has been around a long time. Often called KT-100

dirt tracks run more 4 cycle stuff

There are roughly 3 types of kart racing
Short track road course (1/4 mile to 1 mile length)
Road (Enduro) Racing, 2 to 3.5 Mile tracks (Sports car tracks)
Oval ... ussally dirt, some asphalt, 1/4 mile down to about 1/10 mile.
Small amount of winter indoor oval racing.

Really the dirt oval is the biggest participation, but if your not in that circle you here less ....
