Thats a good sign. I guess you just have to find out why the power isn't coming to the engine side? the longer I sit and think about it you may have to drop the colum down to the get at the switch to test it. its been a few years but they are mounted on top the colume tube and are a bitch to reach. I guess if you can find the main power into the switch you should be able to turn the key and see if its coming out? if not your back to a bad switch.
